Healers keep the group alive: Healing Light always finds the most wounded ally near you.
Talk to villagers by clicking them: Elder Maeve gives quests, Tobin sells gear, Sister Ilsa heals, and Marlo the Angler (on the pier outside the east gate) sells fishing and cooking goods.
Everyone who damages a monster gets full XP and gold for it, so fight together. The village is safe; monsters won't follow you in.
The world has 264 areas in sixty regions, from Saorise Vale (level 1) to the Worldsend Wastes (level 180): snowy Frostfang, the poisoned Blightmire, the burning Cinderreach and more. Press M or click the minimap for the world map: scroll to zoom, drag to move. Every boss is tagged by name.
Awards (Y): earn awards for feats all over Saorise: monsters slain, bosses beaten, areas explored, quests finished, levels reached and gear collected. Each one pays gold, and many unlock a title you can show under your name.
Woodcutting, mining & crafting: buy an axe and a pickaxe from Tobin. Stand by a tree and press F (or D-pad ▼) to chop logs. Ore is found in the dungeons (⛏ on the map): walk into a cave mouth, stand by a glinting vein and press F. Monsters you slay in a dungeon stay dead until you leave and come back. At the Village Forge (E) smelt ore into bars, forge better tools, and craft handcrafted gear 12% stronger than the shop's.
Durability & repair: your weapon wears as it strikes, armor as you're struck, and everything worn loses a little when you die. Axes, pickaxes and rods wear with use. A broken item (bar at 0) gives no stats or won't work. Mend things at the Village Forge (Repair tab: costs metal bars and trains crafting), pay Tobin (Repair tab in his shop), or click a Repair Kit (crafted at the forge) in your bag to mend everything anywhere.
The Colosseum (PvP): through the north gate of Saorise Village. Inside its walls, and nowhere else, you can fight other heroes within 10 levels of you (their names show red with ⚔). Falling there costs no gold or durability: you're back at the gate in three seconds. Wins and losses move your rating, and the top 100 are posted on the Champions Board by the road to the arena gate (read it, or ask Arena Master Kestrel, while you're at the Colosseum). Heals only work on yourself in the arena, and beating the same hero again within two minutes doesn't change ratings.
Homesteads (Hearthvale): a Homestead Deed from the Crown Store gives you a private plot with a cottage already on it. Go there through the Homestead Gate in the meadow east of the village, or press O anywhere out of a fight. Press G to build: walls, windows and doors join up by themselves, indoor floors get a roof (it fades while you're inside), and furniture, lights and garden pieces go anywhere. Pieces cost gold and give it all back when you take them up. Every Storage Chest opens your home vault (press E beside it). Let your clan or everyone visit from the Homestead window, and visit theirs. Expansions in the Crown Store make the plot bigger.
Terms of Service: playing means you agree to the Terms of Service: 13 or older, be decent, no cheating or real-money trading, and purchases are final.
Phones and tablets: choose 📱 Mobile on the login screen (phones get it automatically; switch back here or in the ☰ menu). Drag the left joystick to move, swipe the world to turn the camera, pinch to zoom, and tap a monster, a person or the ground to target, talk or walk. ⚔ attacks, ✋ talks or uses, ◎ picks the next target, and the bar buttons fire your skills and potion. ☰ opens the satchel, map, Chronicle, mail, awards, store and full screen; 💬 opens chat. Play with the phone sideways for the best view.
The Saorise Chronicle (the story): start with Corwen the Grey by the village waystone. Story characters wait beside waystones across the land: a gold ! over a head means they have the next part of the story for you, a ? means they're waiting for your report. The quest box tracks your current step and where to go, a gold ★ marks it on the world map, and J (or 📜, or LB+D-pad ▲) opens your Chronicle to reread the story so far.
Mail: press L (or 📬, or LB+B on a controller) for your mailbox. Write to up to 5 heroes at once; they get it even when offline. In a clan, send a clan letter to every member. Block a hero from a letter, from the Blocked tab, or with /block Name (/unblock Name to undo): they can't send you letters and their chat is hidden from you.
The Arcanum (mages): the school of magic stands east of the Clan Hall, across the stream. Talk to Archmage Solenne or a master to enroll in a school: Pyromancy, Cryomancy, Stormcalling, Arcana or Elementalism (the elemental mage). Each school teaches three spells at levels 10, 35 and 70, learned from its master for gold; they fill keys 4, 5 and 6. Switching schools costs 500 gold and you forget the old spells.
The War Hall (warriors): the school of arms stands east of the Arcanum, along the lane from the bridge. Talk to Warmaster Brandt Ironvow or a master to choose how you fight: Barbarian, Knight, Weapon Master, Brawler or Warlord. Each discipline teaches three techniques at levels 10, 35 and 70, learned from its master for gold; they fill keys 4, 5 and 6. Switching costs 500 gold and you forget the old techniques.
The Sanctum of Dawn (healers): the white-and-gold temple stands just south of the lane between the Arcanum and the War Hall. Talk to High Priestess Aurelle or a master to join an order: Priest, Druid, Templar, Shaman or Shadowmender. Each order teaches three powers at levels 10, 35 and 70, learned from its master for gold; they fill keys 4, 5 and 6. Switching costs 500 gold and you forget the old powers.
The Hunters' Lodge (rangers): the log lodge stands in a clearing across the north road from the Sanctum of Dawn. Talk to Huntmaster Garret Longbow or a master to choose a calling: Marksman, Trapper, Warden, Stalker or Beastcaller. Each calling teaches three skills at levels 10, 35 and 70, learned from its master for gold; they fill keys 4, 5 and 6 (controller: hold LB + X, Y, RT). Switching costs 500 gold and you forget the old skills.
Clans: the Clan Hall stands east of the Colosseum. Walk inside to open your clan's window: the hall chat (only members can read it, and only in the hall), members, the clan flag editor and settings. Found a clan there (level 10, 5,000 gold), or join one: open clans from the Clan Register outside the door (the top 100 clans by renown), others by invitation. Your clan tag shows before your name, and the top three clans fly their flags outside the hall.
Elements & elemental gear: every monster has an element (Fire, Frost, Storm, Earth, Holy or Shadow), shown on its target frame. Monsters no longer drop weapons or armor; instead they drop their element's essence, and bosses drop a heart. Forge elemental gear at the Village Forge (Elemental tab). An elemental weapon hits the opposite element 40% harder (Fire↔Frost, Storm↔Earth, Holy↔Shadow) and sometimes burns, chills, shocks, poisons, heals or drains. Each elemental armor piece blocks 8% of that element's damage; wear six pieces of one element to become attuned.
Fishing & cooking: fish only bite at the twelve fishing spots (🎣 on the map), one in every region. Each has its own fish, one legendary catch (★) and a campfire for cooking. Walk out onto the dock (or up to a hole in the ice) and press F. When something bites, press F again, then hold Space, F or the mouse to keep the green zone on the fish until the meter fills. Marlo the Angler keeps Willowbend Pier just outside the village. He sells rods, bait (click bait in your bag to put it on your hook: fish bite sooner and rare ones come more often) and every cooking ingredient. His cookbooks teach new recipes, and he pays half again for fish. His best wares (the Leviathan Rod, the Golden Lure, the Camp Cookpot that lets you cook anywhere, and the rarer cookbooks) cost fish as well as gold. Meals heal and make you Well Fed for a while.
Waystones are the glowing blue standing stones. Touch one to attune it, then use any waystone (click it or press E) to travel to the others. If you fall, you return to the last one you touched.
Poison: the green water of the Blightmire burns, and its creatures poison you when they hit. Each region ends with a boss; bring a party.
Pumpkin Hollow is a Halloween town in the Duskveil, and every hero's waystones can take them there. Mayor Gourdwin (the one with the pumpkin head) has a chain of nine Halloween quests, the Duskveil around the town is haunted by Halloween creatures,, Witch Hazel sells candy and pies, and the final reward is a floating Jack-o'-Lantern pet.

The glowing book on the stand in the village square is the Bestiary: walk up and press E or A to page through the monsters you have met. A monster is written into the book the first time you come near one, so the book grows as you explore. Awards wait at 25, 100 and 300 kinds.
